Reporting to the Planning Superintendent - Fixed Plant Maintenance, the primary responsibility of this role is to plan and coordinate shutdowns, turnarounds, and outages of equipment and systems within the processing plant. Your proactive approach is instrumental in fostering strong collaborative relationships with all departments participating in the planned shutdown process, ensuring the achievement of shutdown goals related to safety, quality, schedule, and cost.

The ideal candidate must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in Mining, Oil & Gas or Heavy Industry environments
  • Minimum 7 years' experience as Senior Shutdown Planner in Turnaround/Shutdown for large mining or oil and gas facilities
  • Good knowledge and able to demonstrated understanding of work management processes
  • Experience in planning, budgeting, cost estimation
  • Strong knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection regulations, and a commitment to safety in all aspects of planning
  • Proven experience with CMMS (Oracle eAM or similar)
  • Proficient user in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project
  • Computer skills should include a working knowledge of a variety of technical planning software and maintenance management and materials software
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • You will oversee the comprehensive management of major planned shutdowns in the Mill Processing Plant, involving preparation, planning, scheduling, execution, and close-out activities
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and operations management team to develop long term shutdown plan (yearly) for processing plant.
  • Manages, coordinates and ensures processing plants Readiness to Turnaround/Shutdown is managed well without delays (parts, manpower)
  • Defines maintenance activities, defining manpower (resourcing) and logistic requirements (spare parts).
  • Checks spare parts and materials availability. Issues materials reservations from stock, and prepares purchase requests as requested. Follows up with Materials Coordinator, warehouse and purchasing sections on materials status and delivery in support of Operational planned turnaround/shutdown.
  • Preparation of tender documents, and providing plans from which Bids can be defined including detailed scope of work for various services
  • Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant PJV policies & procedures
Mobilization Requirement
  • This position is open to PNG Citizens Only
  • Rotation is FIFO, 28 days on and 14 days off
  • Must Have an up to date Police clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
