Reporting to the Senior Shutdown Planner, the role is responsible for coordinating and planning shutdowns, turnarounds, and outages in industrial facilities. The goal is to ensure that maintenance, inspection, and repair activities are executed efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and disruptions to operations.

The ideal candidate must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in Mining, Oil & Gas or Heavy Industry environments
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as Shutdown Planner in Turnaround/Shutdown for large mining or oil and gas facilities
  • Fair knowledge and a demonstrated understanding of work management processes
  • Able to demonstrate Mine Safety & Inspection regulations, and a commitment to safety in all aspects of planning
  • Proven experience with CMMS (Oracle eAM or similar)
  • Proficient user in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project
  • Computer skills should include a working knowledge of a variety of technical planning software and maintenance management and materials software
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with processing Area Planners for the planning of all work orders within the scope of the turnarounds and shutdowns (define EPS, WBS, and work packages and resources configuration in both Oracle and MS Project scheduling tools)
  • Develop very detailed shutdown plans after scope challenge
  • Prepares implementation programs using PERT planning techniques. The PERT program will show clear critical paths
  • Lead the daily 72-hour planning and look ahead meetings with key stakeholders
  • Prepares comprehensive shutdown report for evaluation and future reference
  • During turnaround/shutdown executions, this position coordinates the scheduling and progress report to all levels of the organization
  • Integrate post turnaround/shutdown planning report ensuring all executed work orders are properly documented and finalized in the CMMS
  • Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant PJV policies & procedures
Mobilization Requirement
  • This position is open to PNG Citizens Only
  • Rotation is FIFO, 28 days on and 14 days off
  • Must have an up to date Police clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
