Our client is a global engineering group specialising in mining and rock excavation products. They are looking to enhance their team across Canada with the addition of a strong leader who has the ability to motivate others.
With an exciting and ambitious growth strategy in place our client is looking for a Director of Finance and Business Control to join their division in Canada, to be based in Greater Sudbury or Greater Toronto. In this role, you are responsible for leading and driving integrated outcomes across the Business Control and Finance teams. As a key member of the Sales Area Canada Management Team, you will be responsible for monitoring the financial performance of the business, playing an integral role supporting all business units in the execution of key business improvement and growth strategies in alignment with the Sales Area Strategic Plans.
In this Director of Finance and Business Control position the key responsibilities are:
- Leading and inspiring a diverse team, emphasizing the importance of people-focused leadership, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment, and driving the team to consistently achieve and surpass organizational goals through effective guidance and motivation.
- Overseeing and being held accountable for the financial controls, reporting, integrity of numbers, month end, budgets, financial support and commercial analysis provided to the support businesses.
- Providing high level support, research and advice to the management team on matters such as financial resource management, facility/property leases and business systems and platforms.
- Overseeing the integration and delivery of digital strategies in conjunction with business unit teams.
- Be a change leader and enable the support of the necessary activities as we work through our SAP S/4 HANA implementation journey.
- Taking an active part in decisions affecting the business by setting clear and challenging financial targets and conducting continuous follow-up of performance.
- Overseeing all tax affairs of Sales Area Canada and supporting the company's business and financial objectives by ensuring the company maintains a fully compliant tax position at all times.
Essentials
- 10-15 years of financial and business control management within the mining, and or construction industry.
- Proven experience as a Finance Director with the ability to inspire, mentor, and manage people to perform their best.
- Strategic planning, compliance, and operational experience.
