The primary objective of the Senior Accountant - Forecasting & Reporting is to support the Finance team by leading the preparation and execution of the annual budgets, monthly forecasts and financial analysis as required. Reporting to the Forecasting Superintendent, this role ensures that all budget and forecast submissions are completed accurately and punctually, adhering to the established annual calendar, and responding promptly to ad hoc requests.

The Ideal Candidate must possess:
- Degree in Accounting from a recognized tertiary institution in PNG
- CPA, ICAA or equivalent professional Accounting qualification
- Minimum 5-10 years accounting experience
- Relevant accounting and taxation knowledge with demonstrated ability to review and critically examine periodic and forecasts, financial and operating data
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business with strong report writing and presentation skills
- Experience with using integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet application
- Familiarity and knowledge in using ERP systems financial management (e.g. Oracle, JDE, SAP)
- Ability to function in a team-oriented environment with demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach and mentor National and Local employees
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness
- High level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of person in the mining industry in PNG
- Develop and critically analyse budget, forecast, and Life of Mine data, translating this information into financial projections and performance forecasts
- Prepare and communicate key financial performance indicators (e.g., cash costs, unit costs, mine cash flows) to support strategic decision-making
- Prepare monthly and ad-hoc forecasting reports including board presentations and management reporting
- Perform financial analysis to evaluate various scenarios and support key decision-making processes
- Engage with site operational teams to ensure financial insights and forecasts are understood and integrated into operations
- Adhere to NPL's Occupational Health & Safety Policy, maintaining a safe working environment for all. Work in a manner that will not endanger self or any other person
- Follow established procedures, capture improvements, and ensure updates to controlled documents are made
- Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with the PJV Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Policy and Rules and Procedures
