An excellent opportunity has arisen within the company for a Media Planner. This is a key position reporting directly to the Head of Section for Blasting & Mine Services.
As media planner you will have the overall responsibility for the design and planning of mine media (paste, water, compressed air and other mine services as required) as well as documenting the as-built services.
The role involves high quality leadership, to promote and uphold the Boliden Tara values of Care, Courage, and Responsibility, whilst also ensuring a safe and positive working environment within the mining operation.

As media planner you will have the overall responsibility for the design and planning of mine media (paste, water, compressed air and other mine services as required) as well as documenting the as-built services.
The role involves high quality leadership, to promote and uphold the Boliden Tara values of Care, Courage, and Responsibility, whilst also ensuring a safe and positive working environment within the mining operation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Documentation of as-build media infrastructure
- Design and planning of new media installations required to deliver the life of mine plan
- Continuous improvement, i.e. look for new solutions/adaptations to improve performance, reliability or lower cost
- Develop and update SOP/RA for media planning tasks
- Support and advise mine planning and operational sections in tasks related to mine infrastructure
Experience and Qualifications:
- Competence/experience of working with ventilation, pumping, piping or support systems, preferably in the mining industry
- Understanding of the mining cycle
- Role model in EHS
Skills and Capabilities:
- A Technical College or University Degree in a Mining/Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in underground mining operations, including a minimum of 2 years of experience in production and mine planning
- Project management skills are an asset
- Previous experience using CAD software, knowledge of Deswik CAD being an asset
- Must have good analytical skills, good organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software
- Flexible approach to work
- Strong interpersonal skills - an ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrates a willingness to drive new opportunities and continuous improvements
- Valid drivers' licence
Additional Info:
- Staff position, full time, Mon - Fri basis from 8.00 am - 16.30pm.
- There will be some international travel required as part of this role.
- There will be a degree of flexibility required as part of this role in line with operational requirements
