Planner Medium Term - Mining, EE

29kms from Kathu, Northern Cape, South Africa

Experience: 8 Years | Qualification: NQF6 Mining Engineering

Preference will be given to women in mining and designated groups in accordance with the Companys Employment Equity Plan.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
To ensure that through effective mine planning, sufficient ore at the right quality is readily and timely available for extraction in the Medium Term (3 months to 12 months), which includes but not limited to:
- Communications
- Mine Planning
- Production Reconciliation
- Update Final Pit Design
- Review Haul Routes
- Scheduling and reconciliation of Waste Dumps and Backfill Areas
- SHERQ adherence and compliance in own area of work
- Work Ethics
QUALIFICATIONS
- National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Mining Engineering
- B Degree / B Tech Degree (NQF level 7) in Mining Engineering / Rock Breaking (Recommended)
- Blasting Certificate / Rock breaking MQA equivalent qualification in Surface Mining (Recommended)EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of eight (8) years operational Hard Rock / Base Metal / Iron Ore type surface mining experience
- Minimum of two (2) years operational Mine Planning experience
- Minimum of two (2) years operational Broad spectrum of Mine Engineering experience
(Total of 8 years operational experience)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Computer literacy (intermediate user)
- Geological modelling data software (basic user), Mine Planning software
- Qlikview or similar ,MineStar , CEAS, Qmaster , Optimisation Software (Whittle, NPV, Haulsim) and discipline specific software( intermediate user) Geology and Mining
- Basic knowledge of mineralogy
- Understanding of the geographical location and areas on the Operation
- Understanding the mine processes
- Understanding of the geological processes (ore type, grade, etc)
3D competencies
- Ability to view three-dimensional images and ability to detect incorrect model registration
- Ability to manage time and deadlines
- Accuracy
- Ability to work with accuracy and precision
- Numerical Ability to calculate and interpret numerical data and formulate reports at an organisation wide / senior management level
- Interpersonal Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across levels (both internal and external stakeholders)OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Meet required medical fitness standards
- Drivers license Valid Code B/EB driver's licenseTERMS & CONDITIONS
The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
