About the role:

EVR is looking for motivated and experienced individuals to contribute to the 2025 exploration drilling projects to be based at one of EVR's Mine Operations or Projects in the Sparwood and Elkford, BC area.

To be successful, we are looking for someone who can drive results, with a commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement. We require someone who is results oriented with excellent organizational, planning, management, and decision-making skills as well as excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

This role will combine the highest standards in environment, health & safety and community relations coupled with strong technical background, contributing to exploration and geoscience programs that are planned, resourced, and executed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner consistent with EVR's priorities, culture, and values. A significant field contractor management component is also expected within the role. The position(s) are available on a 6-10 month defined term and employment will range from February to November 2025.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Actively seek opportunities to recognize health and safety hazards, resolve safety issues and work to mitigate associated risks in the workplace
  • Assist with drill program planning and preparations
  • Provide in-field and on-site project coordination and supervision
  • Undertake pro-active contractor management and supervision activities
  • Complete timely budget, cost, and productivity tracking
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholder groups especially representatives from Site Operations and Engineering teams
  • Collect, manage, and interpret drilling project related data including coal quality, geophysics, geotechnical, geochemistry and field mapping
  • Provide timely program status updates and reports to stakeholders
  • Contribute to the preparation of program close-out and other technical reports
  • Support the planning of future drilling programs
  • Encourage a culture of teamwork between all stakeholders by promoting collaboration and open communications


Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Geology or a related discipline and hold or qualify for Professional Geoscientist ( P.Geo .) or Geoscientist-in-Training (G.I.T.) status with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Minimum three years of geoscience experience, including exposure to mineral exploration in greenfields and brownfields environments
  • Previous experience working with Reverse Circulation or Diamond Drill field programs
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of acQuire™ or MineSight® software packages is preferable
  • Specific experience in geologic mapping, core logging, geochemical and geophysical applications is an asset
  • Specific experience of working on Coal and Sedimentary Basin geology is an asset


The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
