We are seeking a Business Improvement Superintendent for our Rochester operation near Lovelock, NV. This position will report to the Assistant General Manager. The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership to the Operations Leadership department.
This position will require company supported relocation to Lovelock, NV to work a 4 days on, 3 days off schedule.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Rochester’s Business Improvement pipeline from opportunity identification through execution, benefit realization, and sustainment.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities through operational engagement, data analysis, performance review, and challenge of existing ways of working.
- Prioritize opportunities based on business value, effort, risk, strategic importance, and likelihood of successful execution.
- Maintain a strong focus on sustainable cost reduction through productivity improvement, operating efficiency, waste elimination, and hard-dollar savings.
- Translate improvement opportunities into clearly defined projects with quantified value, scope, ownership, milestones, and measures of success.
- Ensure priority initiatives are assigned capable project managers and provide coaching, sponsorship, and support to maintain execution momentum.
- Establish clear governance for the BI portfolio, including regular reviews, escalation of barriers, and transparent reporting of progress and value delivery.
- Partner with Finance and operating teams to validate, track, and confirm realized financial benefits.
- Develop and maintain practical Business Improvement tools, processes, and methodologies that create consistent execution across the site.
- Build Business Improvement capability across Rochester by coaching leaders and project managers in structured problem solving, project execution, and value delivery.
- Provide governance and continuous-improvement leadership for site-wide Lean programs, including 5S, ensuring clear standards, accountability, measurement, and sustainment.
- Work closely with Mine Operations, Process, Maintenance, Technical Services, Supply Chain, Finance, and other functions to identify and deliver cross-functional opportunities.
- Support development of annual and long-range Business Improvement targets and communicate pipeline health, risks, priorities, and results to site and corporate leadership.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Metallurgical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in mining, heavy industry, operations, engineering, or Business Improvement.
- Significant mining operational experience strongly preferred, with a demonstrated understanding of frontline execution, productivity, cost drivers, and operational constraints.
- Demonstrated Business Improvement or Continuous Improvement experience, including management of an improvement pipeline from opportunity identification and prioritization through execution, benefit realization, and sustainment.
- Proven ability to deliver measurable cost reductions, productivity improvements, and other financial or operational benefits.
- Formal training and practical experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous-improvement methodologies; Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of operating cost, productivity, financial value, and the translation of operational improvements into measurable business outcomes.
- Strong structured problem-solving, analytical, project-management, and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coach project managers and operational leaders, influence without direct authority, remove barriers, and maintain accountability for delivery.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convert complex problems into clear priorities, actionable plans, and concise reporting for operational and senior leadership.
- Experience with Tableau, Xeras, or similar analytical and business-planning tools is an asset.
