Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will safely and efficiently perform:
- Assist in Metallurgical studies by executing sampling plans, preparing, and analyzing samples
- Maintain laboratory and analytical equipment used in the process facility
- Stocking of laboratory supplies
- Assists in reviewing new or enhanced Metallurgical testing equipment or protocols
- Develops and maintains an understanding of applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, State and Federal regulations applicable to area of assignment
- Logs samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and processes results into spreadsheets.
- Performs other duties as required (XRD, SEM, MLA and optical microscopy possible)
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in Metallurgical, laboratory and processing analyses preferred
- Able to collect samples, process and accurately report on results required
- Working ability in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) required
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions required
- Strong organizational skills to manage high sample volumes efficiently - required
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards required
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing required
- Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in chemical and laboratory testwork.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical information and instructions - required
