The successful candidate will lead the Site Warehouse team ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials that support mining operations. The role is accountable for workforce supervision, inventory integrity, operational performance, and continuous improvement across warehouse processes and systems.

Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations:
- Manage daily staffing levels, assign tasks, and balance workloads to meet operational requirements and service levels.
- Ensure warehouse compliance and operational integrity by enforcing access control and housekeeping standards, maintaining accurate record-keeping practices, and verifying timely and correct execution of system transactions (EWM and ERP) through routine monitoring and reporting.
- Identify operational improvement opportunities and lead the development and implementation of enhanced processes and best practices.
- Oversee the end-to-end material disposition process, including identifying redundant or obsolete materials, coordinating disposal activities, and ensuring physical removal in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee core warehouse workflows, including receiving, picking, staging, loading, dispatch, and confirming execution aligns with operational standards
- Ensure shift structures, task rotations, and work allocation support operational flow, employee development, and safety standards.
- Coordinate work activities to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operational flow
- Oversee end-to-end workflow stability across receiving, put-away, picking, staging, and dispatch to ensure performance targets are met.
- Monitor operational bottlenecks and delays and implement timely corrective actions.
- Implement structured shift routines, including briefs, debriefs, and exception management processes.
- Conduct shift handovers, communicate priorities, and escalate issues as needed.
- Manage attendance, scheduling, and shift coverage to ensure adequate staffing.
- Monitor operational performance against daily goals, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain productivity and service levels
- Maintain strong communication with internal customers to ensure operational needs are understood and met.
- Maintain strong customer relationships by proactively communicating risks, delays, and material shortages.
- Track and close customer issues within agreed timelines, ensuring service recovery actions are implemented.
- Communicate material shortages or delays proactively to stakeholders.
Warehouse Supervision and Development:
- Communicate job expectations clearly and hold employees accountable for meeting performance and service goals.
- Set clear performance, quality, and behavioral expectations for warehouse technicians and ensure consistent accountability across the team.
- Conduct regular coaching, performance check-ins, and skills assessments to develop a high-performing warehouse team.
- Drive a culture of discipline, compliance, and continuous improvement within the warehouse workforce.
- Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, and ongoing performance feedback.
- Lead structured continuous improvement initiatives using lean, 5S, or RCA methodologies to enhance warehouse performance.
Warehouse Operational Performance
- Analyze operational trends and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring issues.
- Drive initiatives that optimize warehouse layout, reduce waste, and improve material flow efficiency.
- Measure and report warehouse performance metrics, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
- Optimize warehouse storage layout and slotting to improve space utilization, reduce handling time, and enhance overall material flow.
- Ensure high levels of internal customer satisfaction by overseeing timely receiving, picking, kitting, and dispatching activities.
- Serve as the point of escalation for warehouse-related issues and resolve concerns promptly.
- Monitor and manage service-level performance indicators to ensure material turnaround times meet internal customer expectations.
Data, Systems and Reporting:
- Oversee accurate and timely documentation of inventory transactions, ensuring warehouse systems and item records remain up to date.
- Use operational and ERP reports to monitor performance, analyze trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure ERP/EWM transaction discipline by validating correct execution and coaching technicians on proper system use.
- Lead root-cause analysis for stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions to improve inventory integrity.
- Identify and escalate master data issues such as duplicates, incorrect descriptions, or missing attributes.
- Ensure stock discrepancy investigations are completed within required turnaround times.
- Submit cataloging or master data corrections as needed.
- Manage the cycle counting process to ensure inventory accuracy, including scheduling and assigning counts, validating variances, investigating discrepancies, and approving adjustments in line with company policy
- Plan and direct full physical inventory (wall-to-wall stock takes) by coordinating counting teams, preparing required materials handling equipment, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of results
Safety:
- Ensure full compliance with safety standards and company policies, including training staff, communicating safety expectations, and reviewing and addressing safety incidents promptly
- Oversee proper handling, storage, and documentation of hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements
- Ensure all warehouse equipment (forklifts, loaders, pallet jacks) is inspected, maintained, and operated safely and in accordance with maintenance schedules
- Lead toolbox talks and pre-shift safety meetings.
- Lead proactive safety culture by reinforcing safety protocols, conducting hazard identification walks, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensure warehouse technicians complete mandatory safety training and equipment operation certifications.
- Conduct routine audits of hazardous materials storage, equipment condition, and compliance with regulatory standards.
General:
Perform other duties or special assignments as required.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree / bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in warehousing or materials handling (mining industry preferred).
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to direct and coordinate warehouse operations.
- Receiving or supply ch in experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle) and barcoding preferred.
- Ability to input, retrieve, and analyze data accurately.
- Valid driver's license required; Forklift certification preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to perform essential job functions and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
