Responsibilities

Role Overview
An experienced Underground Charge Up Operator / Shotfirer is required to support development and production activities at Scotia Mine. This role is suited to operators with strong underground charging experience who are committed to safe and efficient blasting practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Charge development and production headings in line with mine plans
  • Conduct underground blasting activities safely and in compliance with regulations
  • Handle, transport, and store explosives in accordance with site procedures
  • Conduct pre- and post-blast inspections
  • Maintain accurate blast records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with site safety systems and statutory requirements
  • Work closely with Jumbo operators, supervisors, and mining crews
  • Identify and report hazards, incidents, and non-conformances
  • Maintain housekeeping and safe work practices in all areas


Qualifications

Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Underground Charge Up Operator / Shotfirer
  • Experience in development and production charging
  • Current Shotfirer licence relevant to WA (essential)
  • Dangerous Goods licence (preferred/required depending on site)
  • Strong understanding of underground blasting practices and safety procedures
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Commitment to safety and compliance
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Ability to work FIFO roster (e.g. 2/2 or site-specific roster)
