Extractive Search are exclusively retained by a multinational gold mining company to find a Construction Manager for a major plant expansion at a successful gold mine in Côte d’Ivoire.

Reporting to the Regional Senior Project Manager and leading an owner-side team of 11 direct reports, the Construction Manager will join during the late-stage design phase before moving into execution, due to commence before the end of the year. The role will hold overall responsibility for construction execution on behalf of the owner, managing EPCM and contractor performance across cost, schedule, safety and quality.

This is a significant brownfield expansion requiring strong plant and EPCM experience, including an understanding of tie-ins, shutdowns and plant downtime vulnerability. The successful candidate will bring excellent leadership and communication skills, strong business acumen and a rigorous approach to health and safety. Previous gold and African experience would be advantageous. The brief calls for substantial mining construction experience, including gold plant construction or expansion projects and proven EPCM contractor management.

The position is offered on a 6/3 roster with business-class flights and an excellent remuneration package. It is initially a two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension through future projects within the company’s portfolio. The business offers a dynamic corporate culture with good autonomy for the person leading the project on the owner’s side.
