YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Superintendent, Engineering, you will be part of the Engineering Department. Given the remote location and scale of the operations, you may be required to broaden your scope of responsibilities and demonstrate proficiency and autonomy in relevant areas. You will efficiently support safe and productive mining operations, lead all mine technology adoption projects within the underground mine department, including automation, assist in the streamlining of mining practices and processes, and create business cases for any potential improvement projects. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

- Be the driver and point of contact for all technology implementation and continuous improvement projects within the underground mine;
- Initiate brainstorm and workshop sessions to generate innovative ideas and identify new opportunities within the group;
- Lead the integration of short‑interval control programs;
- Deploy and manage technology‑enabled KPI tracking tools;
- Manage the incorporation of dispatching software;
- Conduct follow-ups on action plans and progress tracking for all projects;
- Frequent field visits to inspect the progress of the planned tasks and implementations;
- Be a leader for all other members directly and indirectly involved in the projects;
- Create and update procedures, training material and other documents related to technology projects;
- Always ensure and promote safety on site, leading by example;
- Promoting a culture of high efficiency;
- Verify all employees have received formal training/accreditation for the jobs being performed;
- Perform all other duties as requested by the UG management team.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- A technical diploma or degree in mining/mining engineering/mining technology;
- Mechanical or maintenance engineering/technology may be considered if candidate hold strong mining experience
- 5+ years of experience in mining, preferably underground gold;
- Demonstrated experience implementing recent technologies, systems, or operational improvement initiatives;
- Experience working directly with operations teams to solve production and technical challenges;
- Knowledge of underground mining methods, mine planning, and operational practices, including fleet management systems (dispatch);
- Strong project management and change management capabilities;
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels;
- Proficiency with mining software (Deswik.OPS), data analysis tools, and digital mining technologies;
- Ability to work independently while fostering strong collaborative relationships across departments;
- Self-motivated with a keen sense of drive, initiative, and ownership;
- Persistent and resilient when overcoming technical and operational challenges;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
