COORDINATOR TECHNICAL & CAPITAL MATERIALS

Position Description

The Kibali Gold Mine Team is seeking to recruit a Coordinator Technical & Capital Materials to join and grow our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Continuously improve the safety culture of the site.
  • Coordinate the planning, sourcing, and availability of technical and capital project materials required to support mining operations and expansion projects.
  • Monitor and track material requirements from project initiation through completion.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of critical equipment, spare parts, and project materials.
  • Verify that all materials received comply with approved engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to ensure alignment of material requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels of technical and capital materials to maintain optimum stock availability.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to stock shortages, excess inventory, and obsolete materials.
  • Support inventory control activities, stock reconciliations, and periodic cycle counts.
  • Ensure accurate material coding, classification, and master data management within SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Coordinate the movement of materials and equipment from suppliers to site.
  • Monitor purchase orders and follow up on deliveries to ensure adherence to project and operational schedules.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, and transportation providers to facilitate the efficient movement of goods.
  • Resolve logistical issues that may impact critical supply chain activities or project timelines.
  • Support CAPEX projects by ensuring the timely availability of project materials and equipment.
  • Participate in project planning meetings and provide material status updates.
  • Assist in developing material budgets and forecasts for capital projects.
  • Monitor material expenditures and contribute to cost control initiatives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on inventory performance, material availability, procurement status, and project progress.
  • Analyze material consumption trends and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material management and supply chain effectiveness.
  • Other duties as required
  • Compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards.


QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, or related discipline), Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Professional certification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Inventory Management, or Project Management will be an added advantage.


EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Logistics, Procurement, or Warehouse Operations.
  • Experience supporting capital projects (CAPEX) within mining, construction, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Proven experience managing technical materials, spare parts, and critical equipment inventories.
  • Experience working in a large-scale mining operation or multinational industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple stakeholders across engineering, procurement, logistics, and operational departments.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Efficiency with Microsoft word, outlook, PowerPoint and access.
  • English fluency is an asset.
