Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. Kinross began operating the mine in 2003, and it has since become a continuous improvement leader in the Company's portfolio. Round Mountain poured its 15 millionth ounce in 2018. Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross' Nevada operations.

Job Description
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment across mine site facilities and designated company housing, including offices, locker rooms, warehouses, dry areas, lunchrooms, restrooms, and operational spaces. This role supports site housekeeping and hygiene standards and contributes to the overall safety and wellbeing of the workforce. This role reports to the Human Resources Superintendent and is generally scheduled to work four 10-hour shifts per week (4/10 schedule), with specific workdays determined based on business needs.
Job Responsibilities
• Performs daily cleaning of offices, hallways, meeting rooms, control rooms, and other assigned areas.
• Cleans and maintains restrooms, showers, locker rooms, and dry areas, including restocking supplies and maintaining sanitation standards.
• Cleans lunchrooms, break areas, and common spaces, including tables, floors, microwaves, refrigerators, and trash receptacles.
• Cleans the mine site clinic and designated company housing.
• Performs floor care, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning.
• Empties and replaces trash and recycling receptacles throughout the site.
• Orders and restocks consumable supplies, including toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, and PPE dispensers, as assigned.
• Performs scheduled deep cleaning of walls, fixtures, high-touch surfaces, and other assigned areas.
• Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and communicates restocking needs.
• Safely handles chemicals and cleaning agents in accordance with SDS requirements, manufacturer instructions, and site policies.
• Maintains housekeeping standards that support site safety, including identifying and reporting hazards.
• Operates cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers, where applicable.
• Assists with special cleaning projects and emergency cleanup needs as assigned.
• Complies with all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable mine site requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
• Previous janitorial, housekeeping, or custodial experience preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with SDS requirements, chemical handling, and safe operation of cleaning equipment preferred.
• Ability to work in a mining or industrial environment, including exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to work independently, follow established schedules, manage assigned areas and priorities, and complete scheduled work with limited supervision.
• Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance and report to work as scheduled.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Valid driver's license required.
