Reporting to the Senior Director of Exploration, this position will be remote with regular travel to sites and head office in Chicago. The Director, Exploration will oversee the Company's greenfields and brownfields exploration programs in two of Coeur's exploration sites in the US & Canada

Key Responsibilities
- Mentor, coach, and develop exploration teams through an inclusive leadership style that fosters technical rigor, geological curiosity, and a high-performing, team-oriented culture. Build capability across teams and ensure consistent leadership and performance standards across sites.
- Accountable for the successful delivery of greenfields and brownfields exploration programs across sites, ensuring programs are effectively designed, prioritized, and executed to advance orebody knowledge, generate high-quality targets, and deliver exploration value.
- Drive the design and continuous improvement of exploration strategies, including advanced modeling and conceptual targeting, ensuring teams integrate diverse datasets to generate and rank robust drill targets aligned with company priorities.
- Ensure exploration programs are executed in alignment with company objectives, standards, and timelines, maintaining strong oversight of program performance, budget discipline, and capital efficiency to maximize return on exploration investment.
- Establish and maintain high-quality geological models by ensuring teams effectively interpret and integrate drilling, geological, and geotechnical data, and apply sound mineralization theories to support resource growth and decision-making.
- Identify performance, data, or interpretation gaps across projects and drive timely corrective actions, ensuring continuous improvement in geological understanding, targeting effectiveness, and program execution.
- Ensure the consistent application of industry best practices across all exploration activities (including drilling, sampling, mapping, QAQC, and modeling), driving standardization, quality, and knowledge transfer across sites.
- Analyze exploration performance against targets and ensure insights are translated into actionable improvements, guiding teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain program momentum.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and company requirements, while reinforcing a strong culture of accountability, safety, and operational discipline across exploration activities.
- Drive a high-performing and aligned team culture by setting clear expectations for communication, collaboration, and accountability across exploration teams and with cross-functional partners, proactively resolving friction points to maintain a solutions-focused and performance-oriented environment.
- Act as a key interface between exploration and broader business stakeholders, including General Managers and peer Director-level leaders across departments, effectively communicating program context, risks, dependencies, and opportunities to enable alignment, timely decisions, and successful program advancement.
- Strengthen coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including permitting, environmental, technical specialists, consultants, contractors, and strategic partners, ensuring exploration programs are aligned with broader operational and business requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geology.
- Advanced degree in mineral economics or geology would be beneficial
- Highly field oriented and hand-on approach and known for improving team capability through mentorship
- Demonstrates strong execution discipline and ownership
- Collaborative and able to work effectively across exploration, operations, technical services and corporate leadership
- 15+ years global exploration experience including brownfields and greenfields.
- At least 5 years in a management position.
- A proven track record of cost-effective exploration & discovery and a passion for geology and a desire to find world class orebodies.
- An excellent understanding of geological environments, deposit models, and ore-forming processes as pertains to the latest concepts of gold deposit environments.
- An ability to think across-scales and to integrate diverse, large datasets for robust target generation and ranking.
- In-depth knowledge of epithermal deposit models and styles of mineral occurrences and an in-depth knowledge of exploration techniques, in particular geophysics and geochemistry.
- Focused and dedicated with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage difficult situations. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
