Job Description

The Facility and Yard Attendant is responsible for the Redpath Mobile Shop complex, including the loading and unloading of mining equipment, organization and maintenance of the shop complex yard, management of snow removal activities, and coordination of facility inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and safely operate loaders and forklifts to support the loading and unloading of shipments, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and contributing to streamlined warehouse operations
  • Oversee and perform the safe and orderly loading and unloading of heavy equipment onto and off transport vehicles.
  • Maintain and organize the equipment yard for efficiency and safety.
  • Oversee or perform snow removal in yard and equipment access areas to maintain operational continuity during winter months.
  • Prepare and verify pre-shipment requirements, including photographs, manuals, spare items and related documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate complex inspections with internal teams and external inspectors. These inspections include, but are not limited to, building assessments, sling integrity evaluations, and environmental site visits conducted by GFL.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, operators, and internal departments to ensure seamless logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and legal transport requirements.
  • Assist shop personnel with general labour tasks on equipment
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the role by identifying opportunities to improve processes, increasing efficiencies, and supporting evolving operational needs.

$27.23 - $36. 30 per hour, based on skills and experience

Qualifications

Education:

Required: High School Diploma

Preferred: Post-secondary education or certification in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management is preferred.

Class 7 or D Forklift certification.
Work Experience:

Required: 1-3 years' related experience in shipping/receiving, inventory control, warehousing and operation of heavy equipment.

Preferred: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a mining environment, specializing in shipping and receiving operations, inventory management, and warehouse logistics. Proficient in operating heavy equipment including loaders, forklifts, and related machinery.

Salary range

  • $27.23 - $36 per hour
