Location: Site-Based and Residential at Nussir Project Site, Repparfjord, Finnmark, Norway

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reports to: President & COO

About the Role

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of Blue Moon Metals Inc.'s operation at the Nussir site in Norway. The GM is a new role to support the projects transition from Construction phase thru to Operations and to provide the leadership during the life of operation. This role ensures safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective production while maintaining compliance with Norwegian regulations and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

The General Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams across mining, processing, maintenance, health & safety, and support functions, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy
  • Foster a strong safety culture and high-performance work environment
  • Provide visible, values-driven leadership aligned with company objectives
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies
  • Ensure a smooth transition, working closely with Construction and commissioning to achieve name plate production for mine and process plant
  • Lead and mentor department heads and senior leadership team

Operations Management
  • Oversee all aspects of mining and processing operations
  • Ensure production targets are met in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner
  • Monitor KPIs and implement performance improvement initiatives
  • Optimize mine planning, ore recovery, plant throughput and concentrate production and sale

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
  • Ensure full compliance with Norwegian HSE regulations and internal standards
  • Promote a zero-harm culture across all operations
  • Oversee risk management, incident investigations, and corrective actions
  • Ensure environmental compliance, including emissions, water management, and reclamation

Regulatory & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Norwegian laws and regulatory bodies such as Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority and Norwegian Environment Agency
  • Maintain permits, licenses, and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate activities required for obtaining any additional permits, if required
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and ESG standards

Financial Management
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets
  • Drive cost control, productivity, and profitability initiatives
  • Report financial and operational performance to executive leadership

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with local communities, municipalities, and Indigenous groups (including Sami stakeholders where applicable)
  • Act as the primary representative of the company at site level
  • Engage with unions and workforce representatives in line with Norwegian labour practices

Projects & Growth
  • Support expansion projects, mine life extension, and capital development
  • Oversee construction, commissioning, and ramp-up activities when required
  • Identify and implement innovation and digitalization opportunities

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, or related field
  • Minimum 20+ years of experience in mining operations, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles
  • Experience in underground mining operations
  • Experience in managing processing facilities, preferably concentrators
  • Experience in managing multi-department operations
  • Experience in managing operations financials, HR and sales processes
  • Track record of positive community relationship and external stakeholder management
  • Strong understanding of Scandinavian or international mining regulations and standards
  • Proven track record in leading large, multidisciplinary teams

Working Conditions
  • Site-based role, must relocate to Hammerfest municipality or Alta area (Northern Norway)
  • Exposure to Arctic or sub-Arctic conditions may be required
