The role
As our Graduate/Assistant Accountant, you'll play an important role in supporting the Finance team and developing your accounting skills through hands-on experience across a broad range of financial activities. Your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities
- Review bank account and credit card reconciliations
- Complete monthly reconciliations of key accounts- fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, clearing accounts, and inventory
- Assist with weekly cash flow. Prepare input information for cash flow.
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Assist with other items as required at month end for reporting
- Assist with annual audits
- Assist with indirect tax returns- BAS and FBT
- Other items including ABS surveys; help with workers compensation returns
Qualifications
- No experience required, however previous AP/ AR viewed favourably.
- Studying or recent graduate in Accounting or Finance degree.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills to maintain and create new models.
- High attention to detail to maintain high standard of accuracy and integrity in all reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Organized, pro-active and able to take initiative.
