Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Supervisor will provide leadership and direction to the maintenance team, ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with site standards and operational requirements.
Responsibilities

- Lead daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
- Ensure all personnel comply with site safety procedures, policies, and legislative requirements.
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations as required.
- Drive a positive safety culture through visible leadership and proactive engagement.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop tradespeople and maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate daily maintenance activities to achieve planned targets.
- Promote teamwork and effective communication between maintenance and operations teams.
- Manage workforce performance and support ongoing training and development initiatives.
- Oversee planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance activities across underground mobile equipment.
- Ensure maintenance schedules are executed effectively to maximise equipment availability and reliability.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate major repairs, servicing, and shutdown activities.
- Liaise with maintenance planners, supervisors, and operational teams to ensure maintenance priorities align with production requirements.
- Ensure parts, materials, and resources are available to support planned work.
- Review work orders and maintenance reports to drive efficiencies and improve planning outcomes.
- Ensure maintenance records, inspections, and statutory documentation are completed accurately.
- Monitor compliance with site and legislative maintenance requirements.
- Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and downtime.
- Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective actions where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance practices, equipment reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance department.
- Contribute to achieving site productivity and operational goals.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline (Heavy Diesel Fitter preferred).
- Significant underground mining maintenance experience.
- Previous supervisory or leading hand experience within underground mining environments.
- Strong knowledge of underground mobile equipment maintenance and reliability practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Sound understanding of mining safety systems, statutory requirements, and maintenance best practices.
- Commitment to fostering a strong safety culture and high-performing team environment.
