Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the Mill Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the different processing circuits. This includes monitoring equipment, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor Crushing, Grinding, Leaching, Cyanidation, Gravity Concentration, Reagent Mixing, CIP, and Tailings circuits. Adjust process parameters locally and via DCS to optimize throughput, recovery, and efficiency;
  • Conduct routine inspections to detect and address equipment or process issues. Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments to maintain smooth operations;
  • Identify, report, and mitigate workplace hazards. Implement Lock Out and Tag Out (LOTO) procedures as required;
  • Adjust operating conditions to maximize plant efficiency and recovery. Ensure continuous improvement of operational processes;
  • Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams for smooth coordination. Assist maintenance personnel by identifying and reporting mechanical, electrical, and control issues;
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and report unsafe conditions or incidents. Document production data, equipment performance, and safety incidents;
  • Be prepared to respond to plant emergencies and abnormal conditions; and
  • Adhere to B2Gold’s health, safety, and environmental policies. Ensure compliance with SOPs, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years in mineral processing, preferably in a gold plant in a remote mining camp;
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mineral processing or a related field is an asset;
  • A Red Seal Certification in Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) is an asset;
  • Familiarity with operating industrial equipment such as crushers, grinding mills, pumps, refinery, and conveyors; and
  • Experience using process control systems (e.g., DeltaV or similar platforms) is an asset.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $42.25

OT Rate: $63.38
