MINING ENGINEER

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Mining Engineer will be responsible for providing operational oversight, planning, and coordination of daily mining activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production. The role will also be responsible for enforcing mine schedule compliance, improving development and stoping outputs, and ensuring adherence to AFCs, safety standards, and legal requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

• Ensuring all mining activities are carried out in accordance with approved mine designs, schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
• Ensuring contractor compliance with respect to quality, schedule, cost requirements and claim validation.
• Interfacing with internal departments and external contractors on matters relating to cost control, performance, progress measurement, payment certification, reporting, trends, and change orders.
• Providing operational input to schedules and technical designs.
• Providing technical input into short, medium and long-term mine planning processes.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable legal requirements, statutory obligations, and MMG Khoemacau standards and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Degree in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant underground mining experience, including exposure to both operational and technical mining environments.
• Underground Blasting license.
• Proven contractor management, coordination, and performance monitoring skills.
