Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, this role will support operational performance through the delivery of practical and technically robust mine designs and short-term schedules.
Working within a collaborative Technical Services team, you will gain exposure across mine design, drill & blast and short-term planning activities while working closely with operational stakeholders in both office and field environments. This position offers excellent mentoring and long-term development opportunities for engineers looking to strengthen their technical capability within a large-scale mining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and optimise short-term mine designs and schedules
• Support drill & blast and operational planning activities
• Monitor and reconcile design conformance to operational plans
• Liaise with production and technical stakeholders to ensure achievable planning outcomes
• Provide operational feedback to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to a strong site safety culture and positive team environment
About You:
• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar
• Exposure to open cut mine planning and scheduling
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience using software such as Vulcan, Deswik or similar mine planning packages
• Strong organisational and problem-solving capability
• Ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a team
