About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mining Superintendent to join the team at Gregory Mine with Sojitz Blue. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating mining operations to safely deliver production targets while driving operational performance and continuous improvement across site.
Reporting to the Mining Manager, the Mining Superintendent will provide strong leadership to operational teams and play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient and productive mining activities across the operation. The position will oversee and coordinate a range of mining activities including Dragline, Drill and Blast, Truck and Shovel/Excavator and Bulk Dozer Push operations, ensuring the safe and productive execution of scheduled works in line with the mine plan and operational objectives.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities include
- Lead day-to-day open cut coal mining operations in alignment with the mine plan
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all crews and contractors
- Ensure compliance with site safety systems, statutory obligations and environmental requirements
- Drive production performance and optimise equipment utilisation and operational efficiency
- Mentor and support Supervisors and operational personnel to achieve high performance outcomes
- Work closely with Technical Services, Maintenance and other departments to achieve site objectives
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across mining operations
- Demonstrated experience in a Mining Superintendent or senior operational leadership role within open cut coal mining
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate and manage teams in a dynamic mining environment
- Sound understanding of open cut coal mining operations and production processes
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Queensland coal mining legislation and statutory requirements
- Supervisor's qualifications; S1, S2, S3 and G2 competencies
- Current Queensland Generic Induction (Standard 11)
- Current Drivers Licence
