Are you an experienced professional in mining, engineering, technical education, business development, or resource mobilization ready to use your expertise where it can create lasting global impact?

Through the SHARE project, Cuso International is recruiting skilled Canadians and Permanent Residents for meaningful international volunteer placements that advance gender equality and economic inclusion. As a Cuso volunteer, you will transfer critical skills, empower local communities, build sustainable systems, and foster long-term resilience alongside local partner organizations.

Comprehensive Volunteer Support Package

🇹🇿 Tanzania (Language: English)

  • Mining Technology Advisor
    • Duration: 5 months | Location: Geita
    • Summary: Bring your mining and technical expertise to support artisanal and small-scale miners with practical, accessible technologies tailored to local needs. You will conduct needs assessments, lead training workshops on efficient and sustainable mining practices, and help build institutional capacity with SIDO staff.
  • Resource Mobilization and Program Development Advisor (Women in Mining)
    • Duration: 5 months | Location: Dar es Salaam
    • Summary: Use your program development and fundraising experience to help the Tanzania Women in Mining and Mineral Industry (TWiMMI) design sustainable programs, secure grant funding, and build donor partnerships. You will help empower women across mining value chains by delivering business and financial literacy training while strengthening organizational systems.
  • Train the Trainer - Mining Education
    • Duration: 5 months | Location: Moshi
    • Summary: Share your technical education experience with the IMTT Unit at VETA Moshi by strengthening the capacity of instructors delivering underground mining programs. You will review curricula, introduce modern adult-learning methods such as simulations and workplace learning, and mentor local trainers to help ensure technical education meets global standards.

🇨🇲 Cameroon (Language: French / Français)

  • Vocational Training Advisor in Welding and Metallurgy (Conseiller(ère) en formation professionnelle en soudure et métallurgie)
    • Duration: 5 months | Location: Yaoundé
    • Summary: Apply your welding, metallurgy, or vocational training expertise to help the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education (MINJEC) modernize training in Multifunctional Youth Promotion Centers. You will design competency-based curricula, recommend technical equipment, and coach local trainers to boost youth employability. (Requires fluent French).

🇵🇪 Peru (Language: Spanish / Español)

  • Project Lead - Mining Education Program
    • Duration: 5 months | Location: Lima / Regional
    • Summary: Bring your project leadership, education, or stakeholder engagement experience to the Canada Peru Chamber of Commerce (CCCP) to design an educational framework that engages school communities on responsible mining and sustainable development. You will conduct research, map key stakeholders, and define the operational rollout for educational outreach across Peruvian schools. (Requires fluent Spanish).

🇨🇴 Colombia (Language: Spanish / Español)

  • Business Partnerships Advisor, Canada-Colombia Trade and Social Impact
    • Duration: 4 months | Location: Bogotá
    • Summary: Use your business development, partnership-building, or CSR experience to support the Colombian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce in connecting private sector growth, particularly in the mining and energy sectors, with community impact. You will help drive partnerships that expand market access for women entrepreneurs, young business leaders, and underrepresented groups. (Requires fluent Spanish).
