Position Description:

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Drill Maintenance Supervisor, Grade Control to join our team. This role is responsible for leading the safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance of the grade control drilling fleet, ensuring equipment availability supports production requirements and operational objectives. The successful candidate will provide frontline leadership to maintenance personnel and contractors, oversee planned and corrective maintenance activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment performance, reliability, and asset life.

Working closely with Drilling, Mine Operations, Supply Chain, and Technical Services teams, the Supervisor ensures maintenance work is planned, prioritized, and executed efficiently while maintaining compliance with all Nevada Gold Mines safety, health, environmental, and contractor management standards. This position plays a key role in developing employee capabilities through coaching, training, and accountability, fostering a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance of the grade control drilling fleet, ensuring equipment availability supports production objectives.
  • Plan, prioritize, and oversee preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Monitor fleet health, maintenance costs, component life, work order completion, and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance management for maintenance personnel, including conducting performance evaluations and supporting workforce development.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with all Nevada Gold Mines safety, health, environmental, and contractor management standards.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring hazards are identified, corrected, and documented in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance reporting, equipment status updates, work order coding, and documentation within maintenance and dispatch systems.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation to improve safety and equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with Drilling, Operations, Supply Chain, and Technical Services teams to optimize maintenance schedules, inventory requirements, and equipment utilization.
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years' experience maintaining mobile drilling equipment, preferably in open pit mining or heavy industrial operations, within a planned maintenance environment preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a maintenance supervisory or leading hand role, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety leadership, with a proven ability to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and training maintenance personnel and contractors to safely achieve equipment availability and reliability targets preferred
  • Sound understanding of preventive, planned, predictive, and breakdown maintenance practices preferred
  • Experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability while minimizing operational disruption preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate maintenance priorities with operational and production requirements.
  • Experience monitoring equipment performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and reduce downtime preferred
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning systems, work order management, and equipment history recording.
  • Demonstrated experience managing maintenance inventory, including critical spare parts, consumables, and stock levels to support uninterrupted operations preferred
  • Ability to forecast maintenance material requirements and coordinate procurement of parts and consumables in accordance with maintenance schedules preferred
  • Experience monitoring maintenance costs, labor utilization, and material consumption, with the ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiency preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of maintenance budgeting principles and cost control practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle (or equivalent CMMS/ERP), maintenance management software, and dispatch or fleet management systems preferred
  • Ability to analyze maintenance data and prepare reports on equipment reliability, maintenance performance, KPIs, and equipment availability preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with maintenance personnel, operations, supply chain, OEM representatives, and contractors preferred
