Key Responsibilities
- Marine Infrastructure Delivery: Supervise the day-to-day construction of the year-round, ice-free quay, docking berths, and coastal loading facilities at the Øyen industrial site including Quay upgrades.
- Subsea Pipeline Installation: Coordinate the deployment and stabilization of the fjord pipeline systems designated for the project's subsea tailings management. Component of both on land and marine.
- Contractor Oversight: Direct marine EPCM contractors, commercial divers, dredging crews, and heavy marine equipment operators (barges, pile drivers, crane vessels).
- Environmental Permit Compliance: Enforce the strict environmental monitoring protocols mandated by the Norwegian Environment Agency and the project's updated discharge permit.
- Quality & Engineering Control: Inspect structural work - concrete quay components, mechanical equipment ship loader interface in addition to conveyor upgrades-to ensure compliance with Norwegian building codes (Norsk Standard).
- Safety Leadership: Conduct daily toolboxes and safety briefings tailored for marine operations in high-latitude, Arctic conditions.
- Contractor Interface: Contractor interface with new construction of below grade conveyor and the contractor interface for the scope of work for thickener construction.
- Emergency Spill Response: This role will lead the emergency spill response.
- Marine Security: Become the key interface with the marine regulatory security requirements. Security management of international vessels and international crew security measures.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 to 10+ years in heavy civil or marine infrastructure (e.g., port developments, dredging, seabed anchoring)
- Contractor management
- Construction management
- Emergency spill response
- Familiarity with Norwegian environmental compliance standards
- Strong understanding of the northern Nordic climate and terrain
