Job Description

Role : Safety Superintendent

Base : Saudi Arabia

Reports to : Head of Safety and Compliance Role Overview : Responsible for implementing and monitoring Saudi Comedat's safety policies and the Ma'aden Safety, Security, Health & Environment Management Standards (MSHEM), and for assuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015, 45001:2018 and 14001:2015. Key Responsibilities:

• Assures departmental adherence to ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001, covering employee relations, Toolbox Talks, risk assessments, hazard recognition, Visual Felt Leadership, lessons learned, internal audits, document control and change management.

• Maintains the Risk Register and the near miss, incident and accident logs and reporting systems in line with company policy and client requirements.

• Monitors safety and health standards through audits, reviews and information dissemination.
• Promotes safety at all levels through inductions, campaigns and safety training for employees.
• Coordinates with government departments and contractors.
• Advises management on injury and equipment damage prevention, legal and legislative safety

requirements, and improvements to working methods.
• Reviews overall safety performance across departments and contractors and analyses injury

and damage data to identify hazards and trends.
• Prepares report submittals, including the General Accident Report (GAR), monthly safety

performance and any significant occurrences during the month. a) Oversees and mentors HSS office staff and safety officers as required.

• Maintains the safety statistics boards to keep everyone informed and involved. Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mine Safety Superintendent or in a similar role in mining or heavy earth moving.

• Degree in Safety Management preferred, with CMSP, NEBOSH or MSHA certification.
