Senior Maintenance Planner
We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Planner to lead maintenance planning for our mining mobile equipment fleet. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent and leading a team of five planners, you will own the planning and scheduling process that keeps the fleet available, safe and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule and cost maintenance work for the mining mobile equipment fleet to maximize mechanical availability while achieving budgeted targets
- Prepare detailed job plans covering labour estimates, parts, materials, special tools, external services, SOPs, torque settings and QA/QC checklists, with planned costs captured
- Sequence job plans for multi-craft alignment, OEM service intervals and major component change-outs, and continuously improve them
- Supervise, coach and mentor a team of five Maintenance Planners, allocating planning workload, setting priorities and reviewing output quality
- Analyze equipment performance and maintenance data to identify trends affecting uptime, reliability, cost and production throughput, and recommend improvements to the Maintenance Superintendent
- Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and Root Cause Analysis on significant equipment failures and drive preventive actions
- Maintain bills of materials, work center data and planning records in the computerized maintenance management system to support accurate capacity planning and scheduling
- Support the mobile equipment asset management program, applying reliability engineering principles to improve availability and asset life
- Work in accordance with the company's ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 management systems, HSE procedures, risk assessment and permit-to-work requirements
What You Will Bring
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Planner in a mining operation
- Technology diploma or trade certification
- Detailed knowledge of mining mobile equipment — haul trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, water carts and ancillary fleet — and their major components and maintenance strategies
- Working knowledge of a computerized maintenance management system (Fleet Maintenance Pro or similar) and materials management systems
- Knowledge of maintenance practices, performance measures, scheduling tools and techniques
- Proficient in English; Arabic is an advantage
- Able and willing to work a FIFO roster of 3 months on / 3 weeks off at a remote mine site
