SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER

✓ Develop and co-ordinate projects aimed at improving throughput, recoveries and efficiencies of the metallurgical plant and related services.

✓ Manage and co-ordinate the process technical department to ensure ongoing recovery improvements, throughput and reduction in unit costs.

✓ Identify and prioritise process projects for improvement in efficiency and costs.

✓ Determine, implement and monitor project strategies, policies and plans.

✓ Direct the execution of the project strategy through appropriate engineering and process designs.

✓ Co-ordinate process related changes to attain production targets and ensure optimum process efficiencies.

The position supports processing operations by converting plant performance objectives into practical process improvement projects, technical plans and implementation actions. It works closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Management, Operations and Maintenance personnel to ensure that process changes are safe, achievable, cost effective and aligned with agreed business plans, process parameters and resource strategies.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

✓ Assist with improving production performance and unit costs.

✓ Manage process project cost budgets, budget planning and expenditure for plant related projects.

✓ Participate in cost saving initiatives and adhere to financial procedures.

✓ Identify and prioritise short- and long-term process improvement projects.

✓ Determine, implement and monitor project strategies, policies and plans.

✓ Direct, coordinate and integrate all technical aspects of projects in accordance with project requirements.

✓ Provide appropriate engineering and process designs to support execution of the project strategy.

✓ Co-ordinate and administer process related changes to attain production targets and optimum process efficiencies.

✓ Control and archive all documents relevant to process projects.

✓ Ensure relevant risks and hazards are identified and managed through Risk Assessments, procedures and COPs.

✓ Evaluate processes, systems, products and new developments to identify opportunities and deficiencies.

✓ Perform risk evaluations within the design of systems, equipment and products.

✓ Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures.

✓ Manage the process technical department and monitor technical staff performance.

✓ Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between supply chain, engineering, management and other relevant departments.

✓ Coordinate ore and services to the plant according to the 2-5 year resource and mining strategy.

✓ Financial: Owns and controls a specific activity budget.

✓ Assets: All process tools and equipment, and plant equipment.

✓ Human: All processing employees and processing contractors involved in projects.
