Within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team, you'll contribute to reducing the environmental and socio-economic impacts of mining activities. The group develops cutting-edge technologies and best practices for the responsible management of tailings and waste rocks, aiming to make mining operations cleaner, safer, and more efficient.

They are looking for a Senior R&D Engineer - Sustainable Mining / Tailings Management to support plants worldwide in deploying innovative solutions and to strengthen applied R&D projects in solid-liquid separation processes.

Your Missions

As part of the Sustainable Mining Team, you will:
  • Support operating units through on-site commissioning, start-up, and ramp-up of tailings management solutions.
  • Ensure the installation, testing, and performance of filtration and thickening equipment.
  • Contribute to applied R&D projects focused on process optimization, dewatering, and valorization of mine waste.
  • Conduct technological watch and evaluate techno-economic solutions to enhance tailings management across sites.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to challenge technologies and improve process performance.

Your profile

Vital Sphere
  • Engineering degree or master's in Mining, Chemical, Environmental, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years of experience in mining operations, tailings, or process engineering.

Technical Sphere
  • Expertise in dewatering, filtration, thickening, and slurry transport systems.
  • Knowledge of rheology and chemical treatments applied to dewatering processes.
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in incremental R&D and process optimization.
  • Fluent in English; working knowledge or willingness to learn Spanish.

Satellite Information

Launch date: As soon as possible

Base: Asturias, Spain

Travel: 25-50%, internationally
