The Role

As an Applications Developer, you will work to achieve set project deliverables, provide on-going support and deliver excellent customer service to our Copper and Zinc businesses across North Queensland and the Northern Territory. This role will also involve collaborating across our various teams to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and success of projects as well as being customer-facing which requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What you will be doing in the role:
  • Analysis - Review user stories and feature requests
  • Collaboration - Work with your teammates (Business Analysts & developers) to build-out requirements
  • Design - Convert user stores and requirements into your own DB, API and UI designs
  • Development - Build your designs for DB schema, modules, APIs and UIs
  • Testing - Build unit tests for your features and peer review your teammates features
  • Maintenance - Upgrade dependencies, fix bugs, clean code and improve system performance & architecture
  • Document - Write self-documenting code, add code comments and keep wiki updated
  • Code Review - Review peer and vendor developed code for structure and quality
  • DevOps - Work with our teams to assist with automation tasks

Essential Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent with minimum 1-2 years of industry experience
  • Knowledge in Microsoft development environment including .NET Framework, C# 5.0 or higher, MSSQL/SSRS
  • Web development experience in JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • Ability to work confidently with new applications, software frameworks and business / IT processes
  • Demonstrated software technology and programming problem-solving skills (e.g. investigate issues, bug fixes)
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication, analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • A team player who is self-motivated and takes ownership to resolve issues
