About the role
As our Management Trainee, you have the opportunity to learn how to manage production operations, programmes, manage risk and budgets, supervise road maintenance design. You'll develop core competencies across the areas of people management, delegation, negotiation, time management and presentation skills - and that's just the start of it!

A key factor in your success will be your ability to collaborate with the onsite and national operational teams to determine and assist with the implementation of cost efficiencies, quality and delivery outcomes. Day to day you will be:
  • Participating in the daily production activities as required at each production unit, in accordance with the requirements of the local managers
  • Monitor the operation of works to ensure that site performance meets the required standard.
  • Record site measurements
  • Monitor and manage financial transactions in accordance with budget expectations.
  • Be able to interpret month end financial statements
  • Be able to price materials for sale and have commercial awareness of the market and the Company's strategy

About You:
You must have an inquisitive mechanical mind. There are more than two dozen factors that can affect our operational activities and you will have a desire to learn and understand these. This job is for recently graduated engineers who want the chance to prove their value in a continuous improvement environment. A Bachelor of Engineering in an associated discipline is essential. There may be the opportunity for promising candidates to take on a leadership role as you grow your career. You must have:
  • Desire to understand Asphalt, Bitumen and technical services
  • Ambition to create a continuous improvement environment
  • Outstanding and adaptable Communication Skills
  • Good ability to document changes in input & output
  • Ability to take initiative and ensure that quality concerns are addressed immediately
