Job Details

Reporting to the Asset Health & Analysis Supervisor, the Asset Health Analyst (AHA) analyses exception data from electronic systems and develops corrective action recommendations based on analysis of machine health related data. Regular customer interaction is required to ensure there is good understanding of WesTrac’s customer needs and provide additional customer focused services.

Based in Perth, working 10 hours per day and reporting to the Asset Health & Analysis Supervisor, the AHA will be responsible for:
  • On-going monitoring of machine connectivity and data flow required, action taken when required and followed through to resolution
  • Analysis of machine performance and operations data from multiple sources such as, but not limited to: ECA, VIMS, MineStar Health, fluid analysis, site feedback, work order history to identify and understand exceptions (potential failures)
  • Make informed, data-driven, valuable recommendations to correct identified anomalies and improve overall machine performance
  • Influencing the take-up of recommendations made
  • Ensuring feedback on action taken and results found is logged and fed back into necessary systems
  • Organise regular meetings with key customer stakeholders to discuss the overall progress and value of the monitoring programme
  • Provide insights on potential new business opportunities


  • Suitable Trade qualification (e.g. Diesel Fitting / Plant Mechanic) coupled with a minimum 10 years post trade Caterpillar equipment experience
  • Previous maintenance planner/scheduler, reliability analyst or equivalent experience
  • Experience and knowledge of Caterpillar information systems (e.g. Service Information System (SIS), Service Information Management System internet (SMSi), Equipment Care Advisor (ECA))
  • A sound understanding of Fluid Analysis
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships at multiple levels (maintenance & reliability personnel to senior management)
  • Advanced computer literacy skills – MS Office, internet based applications and Dealer Business System (DBS)
  • Highly developed attention to detail with the ability to analyse condition monitoring information and provide accurate reported recommendations
  • Knowledge of and experience in utilising continuous improvement and lean principle methodologies
  • Current drivers licence

  • Site experience (e.g. Mining, Construction)
