Position summary:

Downer Defence Systems are currently seeking applications from an Assistant Project Manager or experienced Project Support Officer for an opportunity within the Commonwealth Government Defence sector. Candidates must be Australian citizens and applicants residing outside of Australia will not be considered. This role will be based in Canberra.

The successful candidate will lead a team working on a Geospatial LAND project within CASG. The Assistant Project Manager will assist with project planning, implementation and evaluation to achieve project outcomes and support the achievement of organisational objectives. An understanding of the Defence Capability Life Cycle is also required as well as the ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure project deliverables are met.

About you:
  • An Project Management professional who is looking to develop their career in a prominent professional services business.
  • PMP or Prince2 certification.
  • Experience working in a high performing project team managing and delivering project outcomes.
  • Experience and understanding of the Defence Capability Life Cycle.
  • Experience in building trusted & valued relationships with project team members, customers & partners.
  • Hold an Australian Government security clearance (NV1 level and above).
