About the role

As our next Blast Crew reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

Based at a new greenfields open-cut mining project, WA with a 2/1 FIFO roster from Perth, you will thrive on meeting all goals and challenges, and act with fairness and integrity in all that you do. The successful applicant will join a passionate and energetic team where they will be responsible for providing technical knowledge, support and assistance to Thiess' mining operations.

In this role, you will:
  • Assist the Shotfirers, undertaking Blast guarding, drill rig off-siding and general labouring duties
  • Operate various machinery as required, such as tele-handlers, vehicles and Loaders
  • Inspect blast equipment to ensure the correct working order and safety requirements
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards

About you
  • Previous experience on an open pit blast crew (Essential)
  • Current dangerous goods security card (Essential)
  • Loader ticket or loader capabilities (preferable)
  • Dump Truck ticket or demonstratable experience (preferable)
  • Current Working at Heights Licence obtained within the past 12 months (Essential)
  • HR Driver's Licence (Advantageous); a current C Class Driver's Licence is essential
  • Telescopic Handler Licence (Advantageous)
  • Current Shotfiring licence (Advantageous)
