About The Role

Schedule: 14 days in & 14 days off - 12 hours per day, 6:00am - 6:00pm (FIFO)

Position Reports To: Senior Underground Mining Engineer

Position Overview:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a student who wants to gain valuable underground mine site experience in all facets of mining engineering. This opportunity is available for a minimum of 12 months and upto 16 months internship with a flexible start date.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside the Mine Planning team in producing development, stoping and drill and blast designs following engineering best practices and standards.
  • Assist ventilation technicians in conducting ventilation surveys and determining ventilation requirements.
  • Gain exposure in underground survey techniques and assist in cavity monitor surveys of the workings.
  • Gain exposure in underground rock mechanics and assist with pull tests underground.


Qualifications:
  • Current enrolment in a Canadian-accredited undergraduate mining engineering program.
  • Excellent communication and people skills (oral, written, listening)
  • Exposure to mine planning computer software and excel (Deswik preferred)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Positive attitude & eagerness to learn.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position will be between $55,000.00 -$74,000.00.
