About the Opportunity
As a Sales Representative, you will take ownership of a defined territory across Canberra, the ACT and Southern NSW, developing long-term relationships with customers across construction, earthmoving, civil and related industries.
You will work closely with customers to understand their business challenges and provide tailored equipment, technology and service solutions that improve productivity, reduce operating costs and deliver long-term value.
This is a highly autonomous field-based role that combines relationship management, strategic territory planning and proactive business development.

Key responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established territory across ACT and Southern NSW
- Develop strong relationships with new and existing customers
- Identify opportunities to expand equipment, technology and service sales
- Prepare quotations, proposals and business solutions
- Negotiate and close high-value capital equipment sales
- Develop and execute territory growth strategies
- Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecasts and customer records
- Collaborate with Caterpillar and internal teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
- Ensure compliance with safety, operational and customer service standards
Skills and Experience
You are a motivated and commercially minded sales professional with a passion for building relationships and achieving results.
You may have experience in capital equipment, construction, industrial products, transport, agriculture, mining, manufacturing or another technical sales environment.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Proven experience in sales with a track record of achieving results
- Strong negotiation, influencing and relationship-building skills
- Experience managing customer accounts and growing market share
- The ability to identify customer needs and deliver value-based solutions
- Strong commercial acumen and business development capability
- Confidence managing multiple opportunities and sales pipelines
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Mechanical or technical aptitude
- Experience with Caterpillar equipment, heavy machinery or related industries will be highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering or a mechanical trade background are advantageous
