Hatch is seeking a DeltaV Programming Engineer with experience in metals, mining and/or infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead DeltaV programmer for projects involving DeltaV configuration.
  • Develop DCS automation requirement specifications and functional descriptions using industry best practices.
  • Configure the DeltaV database, HMI and develop the required programming logic in function block diagram, structured text and/or sequential function charts.
  • Responsible for applying DeltaV relevant skills primarily in building class-based control modules in DeltaV, in-depth knowledge of DeltaV function blocks and data structures, DeltaV Tune with Insight, and familiar with the use of PID, Cascade and ratio control.
  • Must be familiar with the latest DeltaV electronic marshalling architecture options (CHARMS) as well as the latest virtualization technologies.
  • Independently use DeltaV operate and the control studio to execute projects from start to commissioning
  • Must be familiar with factory acceptance testing and have experience in developing and executing testing for configured code products in a plant environment.


Knowledge/Skill/Ability Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited College or University.
  • At least 5 years of DeltaV experience is mandatory.
  • Candidate must have a passion for process control, automation and computer systems.
  • Must be well versed in current statutory regulations, industry standards and recommended practices and a practical sense in applying such references; DCS and PLC control system hardware and architecture.
  • Plant site instrumentation, control systems, control valves, and communications.
  • Practical instrumentation system reliability, maintenance and repair standards.
  • Experience with digital communications and fieldbus technologies, networking and hardware.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is an asset.
  • Excellent planning and execution drive to deliver results and meet quality, cost and schedule targets.
