Position/Title: Designer - Draftsperson- Piping Structural Design

Location (Facility): Victaulic - Charlotte, NC Office

Reports to (Title): Director - Corporate Engineering - Piping Movement Design Team

Responsibilities:

Support engineers in accommodating piping movement in a variety of systems and markets.

Prepare and modify piping and MEP related structure design drawings and steel shop drawings using AutoCAD and BIM (Revit) software based on engineer's markups.

Prepare 2D and 3D structural models, layouts, framing, and connection details in Revit or Solidworks.

Review and organize multidisciplinary construction drawings received from clients, consultants, and company contacts. Identify clashes, conflicts and incomplete design information. Collaborate with internal and external engineers and contractors to complete well-coordinated structural drawing sets.

Manage and update drawing templates and the library of details and components for efficient and accurate project submission. Prepare simple structure design calculations to be included in the submittal package.

Prepare 3D Constructible models, piping layout drawings, isometric drawings, spool sheet drawings/cut sheets with complete BOM's (bill-of-materials), pad and equipment drawings from customer furnished drawings, models and vendor data in Revit and 2D and 3D AutoCad design modeling software as required.

Assist with project review, kick-off meetings, customer contact, and other job control functions.

Prepare and coordinate complete BEP (Basic Engineering Package), adhering to established guidelines, and update as necessary to accommodate changes to material delivery req.

Multitask within various ongoing drafting services and optimize the workflow to meet deadlines.

Advise engineers on a weekly basis on status of all assigned projects and assist with project close out and customer satisfaction reports.

Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Skills, Personal Attributes)

Education: An associate degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience

3 years minimum of drafting experience. Experience in the structural/mechanical discipline and construction industry preferred.

Understanding of multi-disciplinary construction documents and drawings (Structural, Mechanical, Architectural, Plant/Facility). Working knowledge of various construction types and building methods (steel, concrete, cold form steel, masonry) preferred.

Knowledge of piping specification engineering and pipe support experience is a plus.

Project Management experience is a plus.

Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks is a plus. Microsoft Suite${descr2}
