Hail Creek mine is a large scale, long-life open cut operation, located roughly 120 kilometres south-west of Mackay in the northern Bowen Basin region of central Queensland. With a mine life for 20+ years, production nearing 10 million tonnes per year and producing both coking and thermal coal products, Hail Creek is one of the premier coal mines in Australia. Reporting directly to the Dragline, Drill & Blast Superintendent, you will be accountable for the safe and efficient delivery of productivity targets by ensuring appropriate utilisation of resources within your team. You will be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of a highly effective Team. Key accountabilities include contractor management of Explosives, Drill accessories and Stemming truck suppliers, effective resources management, leading the team to deliver agreed KPI's, and identifying & implementing opportunities to reduce costs. Whilst continually maintaining and improving a safe workplace, you will develop and maintain relationships with surrounding operations ensuring that broken ground is delivered safely and cost effectively, as per the Mine Plan.

This position has front line responsibility for productivity and safety associated with Dragline operations, and Drilling & Blasting of coal & waste. You will be required to provide day to day leadership and instructions so that the overall mine plan is achieved within deadlines. You will possess the skills, knowledge and experience expected of this Supervisory role. To be successful for this position, you will have a thorough understanding of open cut mining processes, excellent people skills and have experience with Drill, Blast and Draglines.
