Position summary

THE ROLE

We are currently searching for an experienced Drill and Blast Supervisor to join our high performing team at the Gruyere Gold Mine, 200 kilometres east of Laverton within Western Australia' famous Goldfields.

In this role you will be responsible for providing daily supervision and leadership to the drill and blast team to achieve Zero Harm, safe systems of work, quality and performance objectives.

Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Preparation of work schedule in relation to drilling and blasting activities, assigning and communicating priorities to the Drill and Blast team daily;
  • Monitoring performance of Drill and Blast team's activities to ensure production targets are met - initiating corrective actions as required;
  • Liaison with the other site supervisors and superintendents to ensure plant availability to optimise production levels;
  • Monitoring subcontractors to ensure work is carried out accordingly to meet business and contractual requirements;

The role will operate on an 8-days on, 6-days off roster, FIFO from Perth.

SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Demonstrated positive safety leadership skills and commitment to Zero Harm;
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an open cut mining operation;
  • Knowledge of environmental reporting and legislative requirements relating to drilling and blasting activities;
  • Effective people management and development skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Current WA Shotfirers licence
  • Dangerous Goods Security card
