Title: Drill Safety Specialist - 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Work location: Iron Bridge

Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off

Working within Strategic Planning's Drilling team, you will be responsible to ensure adherence of Fortescue's Health, Safety and Environment standards and policies by both Fortescue and contracted employees.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure Fortescue and Contract employees adhere to required Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures
  • Promote safe and efficient operations of Drill rigs and associated equipment
  • Proficient auditing of machinery and procedures to identified gaps and non-compliance's
  • Provide subject matter expert advise to Fortescue and its contracting partners on drilling related safety and coordination matters

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety - preferred
  • Drilling Certification - Preferred
  • Knowledge of drilling operations and safety procedures/best practices in remote locations
  • Experience with performing safety audits
  • Incident investigation exposure (ICAM training/experience preferred)
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Current WA C Manual drivers license
  • 4WD Certificate
