Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work on a range of electrical and instrumentation industrial designs
  • Produce and maintain engineering drawings using 2D/3D CAD software
  • Produce designs and drawings for electrical systems, i.e. motor control center schematic diagrams, interconnection diagrams, cable schedules, single line diagrams, general arrangement drawings and grounding/earthing, lighting/services designs
  • Produce cable tray and raceway design and calculate cable sizing
  • Produce designs and drawings for instrumentation and control systems, i.e. piping and instrumentation diagrams, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, network diagrams, control panel layout drawings and bill of materials.
  • Ensure all drawings and deliverables are checked to comply with project and company quality standards
  • Execute designs following the electrical design criteria for the project as well as applicable design standards, codes, and regulations
  • Ensure coordination of all E&I interfaces with designers and engineers of other disciplines
  • Participate in formal engineering review processes
  • Participate in field surveys at client sites that may require significant amounts of walking.


Qualifications and Experience:
  • Electrical engineering diploma from a recognized college
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design. Experience in potash mining or general industrial environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD design (Microstation, AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge of all types of high, medium and low voltage electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of control systems and instrumentation design
  • Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE)
  • Knowledge of multidisciplinary design. Experience in a multi-disciplinary EPCM environment is preferred.
  • Experience in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projects.
  • Strong problem solving skills and multitasking ability
  • Strong computer skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent safety awareness
  • Willingness to be a part of a global engineering company and to collaborate with teams in other offices around the world.


This is a one-year, full-time contract with the possibility of extension.
