Maintenance & Engineering - Copper Concentrator

An internal vacancy currently exists within the Copper Concentrator Electrical Maintenance Team for an Electrician. This challenging role will see you become an integral part of the maintenance team responsible for servicing the Grinding & Flotation circuit, Fill Plants, Concentrate Filters, Surface Ventilation and Refrigeration Assets. This is a residential role in Mount Isa, requiring you to work on flexible roster/s structures.

The day-to-day duties include:
  • Contribute to the effective and safe maintenance of assets including Grinding & Flotation circuit, Fill Plants, Concentrate Filters, Surface Ventilation and Refrigeration Assets;
  • Issuing of work orders prior to SAFESTART
  • Review of the next day's work, ensuring the job is ready to go and the equipment is available
  • Review of completed work orders, ensuring comments are correct and correctives can be raised
  • Heavy involvement in planning for daily works, electrical planning meetings and backlog review;
  • Provide leadership, direction and be part of developing a dynamic team
  • Be task focused and prepared to work with others to achieve daily targets and outcomes.
  • Challenge the status quo and operate under the belief that all injuries are avoidable.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Australian Manual Driver's Licence
  • Trade qualified Electrician with an equivalent Queensland Electrical Fitter or Electrical Mechanic Licence
  • Minimum 5 years' post trade experience
  • Safety as a core belief with a solution seeking attitude
  • The ability to lead by example and a strong work ethic
  • A minimum of 3 years working in the mining industry
  • Technical knowledge and organisational skills that will enable you to succeed in a demanding yet rewarding team environment
  • The ability to think logically to solve problems and create value
  • Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills along with a professional work standard
  • Experience with the following will be highly regard:
    • Yokogawa CS3000
    • Allen Bradley Control Logic PLC
    • Industrial process instrumentation
    • HV/LV experience
    • Ellipse
    • Previous experience with supervising and leading teams
    • S1,S2,S3
    • HA
