Intermountain Electronics, Inc. is accepting resumes for an Engineering Designer/Drafter located in our Denver, CO facility. IE is a leading provider of custom engineered and manufactured process and electrical systems to the mining, oil & gas, and power/utility industries in North America. IE's turnkey products are generally mobile - mounted on skids or in portable e-houses. Our products include portable power/generators, substations, electrical control rooms (MCCs/VFDs/switchgear), water-flood/disposal buildings, compressor skids, metering equipment, mining power skids, LACT units, and other products used in the energy, oil & gas, and mining sectors.

This position will provide support functions for the Engineering Department for Electrical, Mechanical and Process. Under supervision, design and prepare detailed electrical and mechanical models and detailed prints for multiple projects.

Major Duties:

* Creates design plans and develops initial layouts both independently and under direction of Project Engineers.
* Performs redline corrections and develop design drawings from initial sketches.
* Convert hand sketches and drawings into electronic format utilizing Solid Edge and AutoCAD software.
* Provide drawing support to the Engineering team.
* Revise computer-aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction.
* Prepare cut sheets for mechanical layout.
* Verify accuracy and revise bend details in preparation for fabrication department.

* Assemble and maintain a hard copy library of completed proposals/projects.

* Maintain computer data bases of proposal and project information to aid in future data retrieval.

Experience and Skills
* Associate's degree in a technical field from two-year college or technical school, plus two years related experience and/or training; Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Good administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Demonstrated proficiency to achieve high quality results through continual attention to detail and anticipation of potential problems during the early planning and design review stages
* Proficient using AutoCAD, SolidEdge or SolidWorks, Excel, MSWord and Outlook
* Good mechanical, analytical, and technical skills
* Good understanding of the relationship between product design and manufacturing.
* Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
* Proven ability to work successfully with a cross-functional team.
