Welcome to Glencore Coal Assets Australia contractor job and onboarding system.

Job Description

An opportunity exists to join Glencore Coal Business Development and Technical Services and become part of the team driving strategic decision-making across our Australian coal business.

About the Role:

Working within the strategic planning team, this role supports both early-phase and advanced projects across the portfolio. The position plays a key role in mine design and strategic planning studies, closure and rehabilitation planning, coal quality assessments, and the provision of technical support to operational sites.

About you:

The successful candidate will bring substantial mining industry experience and strong capabilities in strategic and detailed mine design, scheduling, and long-term planning. A sound understanding of equipment capabilities, mining processes, and performance reconciliation will be essential, together with extensive practical experience using mine planning and design software.

You will possess a strong understanding of the key value drivers within the coal industry and demonstrate the ability to manage competing priorities, focus on critical business issues, and build effective working relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.

As a key contributor to the broader strategic planning function, experience in asset valuation, financial modelling, and M&A due diligence activities would be advantageous. The role requires strong analytical and critical thinking skills, the ability to work independently, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Operational experience, along with demonstrated supervisory or leadership capability, will be highly regarded.

Flexibility to undertake occasional travel and work across project sites in regional Queensland and New South Wales is required.

The office location to be negotiated with successful applicant, with options for Hunter Valley or Brisbane.
