About the role

Due to exponential growth through 2020, we are currently looking for expressions of interests for Drill and Blast Superintendents for upcoming works at our Western Australian Operations. The Drill and Blast Superintendent is a person that can soundly articulate a compelling vision for the site and the team. You are a role model of visual and symbolic safety leadership As a Drill and Blast Superintendent, are responsible for providing support to the Engineering and Technical Services functions. This includes the scheduling and completion of planned works within the Drill and Blast function.

Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will be required to;
  • Complete time in field ensuring work areas are safe for personnel
  • Complete scheduled field leadership activities where you will coach personnel in safety
  • Oversee and manage compliance with statutory requirements, reviews and audits
  • Oversee, manage and control Drill and Blast project outcomes with regards to safety, quality, performance and costs.
  • Monitor and make changes as required for Drill and Blast resourcing requirements to meet the mine plan objectives
  • Carry out and report on QA/WC on the Drill and Blast process
  • Undertake Drill and Blast related project studies and investigations
  • Maintain and improve the Drill and Blast processes
  • Liaise with Drill and Blast team and contractors to ensure daily, weekly and monthly production and quality conforms to plans
  • Maintain and enhance contractor relationships.

The role will be on a 9/5 FIFO roster from Perth

About You

  • At least 10 years' experience in drill and blast in an open pit environment
  • Exposure to mining contract management
  • Current WA's drivers licence
  • Current Shotfirers ticket
  • Current Senior First Aid certificate
  • Hold WA Unrestricted Quarry Managers ticket (or working towards it)
