YOUR OPPORTUNITY

With a current tenement holding of 14,800 square kilometres within the Albany Fraser Range and one of the largest Airborne EM programs that Western Australia has seen to date, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Geophysicist to join our in-house geological team of industry specialists that changes the face of exploration in Western Australia.

The successful candidate will assist in the planning, implementing and interpretation of geophysical programs in support of both near mine and regional exploration programs, maximising the chance of discovery.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief Geophysicist, this is a Perth based role working on a 5:2 roster with time in the field as and when required.

This is a diverse opportunity where you will be able to provide geophysical expertise and services to exploration team and operations as required whilst ensuring geophysical crews are adequately trained and data is collected to the highest possible standard.

Your experience in Supervision of field staff, contractors and equipment, coupled with ensuring all field operations are conducted within IGO's safety and environment guidelines, will ensure consistency across the team.

You will also be accountable for:
  • Interpretation of results from geophysical programs
  • Confirm the most efficient geophysical technique is selected and field programs are planned and implemented in an efficient manner
  • Field work as required including geophysical surveys
  • Respect and work with Traditional Land Owners
  • Drive continuous improvement of systems and processes to ensure IGO maintains industry best practice

YOUR EXPERIENCE

You will have experience within a similar role, having strong knowledge of geological processes and demonstrated knowledge in mineral systems.

Some essential key qualifications and areas of experience in this role will include:
  • Geophysics degree
  • Highly competent written and verbal communication skills
  • Navigation skills, including map and GPS experience
  • Significant experience with ground EM acquisition, processing and modelling.
  • Experience with Geosoft Oasis Montaj, Maxwell, Encom PA, MapInfo and QGIS software
  • Valid 'C' class manual drivers' licence
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last three months
  • Safety focused with the willingness to support our company values
