Tecside are currently working alongside a well-respected and leading OEM to source a Health Safety and Environmental Advisor for an exciting temp to perm vacancy in Gladstone with occasional overnight travel to mine sites.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead and conduct incident investigations, including preparation of investigation reports
  • Conduct site compliance inspections and HSE audits.
  • Randomly attend pre-shift meetings and where necessary communicate HSE information.
  • Assist in mentoring and supporting employees to ensure full understanding and adherence to clients Safety Management & Environmental systems
  • Undertake chemical management audit across client's SE Qld sites and assist in updating information into ChemWatch as well as educating personnel in the use of Chemwatch.
  • Assist with Site Health, Safety, Environment Inductions for all employees and contractors.
  • Assist in the management of Workers Compensation claims and Rehabilitation Plans/Programs
  • Assist with random drug and alcohol testing
  • Prepare HSE bulletins, alerts and communications

The successful applicant will possess the following Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a workplace health and safety role within the mining industry
  • Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Strong knowledge of Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation claims management
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • High level of internal customer services skills
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with end users
  • Advanced to intermediate skills within Microsoft suite of computer programs
